How these practice tools count
Short notes on the numbers used on this site. They match the tools. They do not restore an old download archive.
What BPM is
Beats per minute, tap averages, and why a pause longer than two seconds resets the count.
6/8 and 3/4 in these tools
Two dotted-quarter beats in 6/8, three quarter beats in 3/4, and why the clock times differ.
A440 and MIDI 69
The default reference, 432 and 442, and the equal-tempered frequency formula.
Why these pages do not host audio files
Practice tools only. The metronome click is Web Audio. Other people’s songs are not stored here.
Delay time in milliseconds
ms = (60000 / BPM) × beats. Quarter at 120 BPM is 500 ms. Dotted × 1.5. Triplet × 2/3.
Capo and transpose
Capo N raises a shape by N semitones. C with capo 2 is D. Same rule as the transpose tool.
How the practice loop counts
Count-in first, then play, then rest. The log stores play bars only.
